We make a lot of standardized wear parts for our buckets. These are the ones that are one the buckets unless our customers want different kinds. The wear parts that are considered standard are, bottom plates, wear ribs, curved wear ribs, side ribs and front edges. If you have a bucket from Klepp Mek, we can deliver the exact same wear parts that the bucket had in the first place.
We also make a lot of custom wear parts. These are for instance milk teeth, welded shrouds, inner bottom plates, inner wear ribs and custom front edges.
Our new heel shrouds are forged and through-hardened by Kverneland Group. The same company that initially developed KVX products. The heels are made with a specialized alloy (sagitta) which is hardened to over 500 HBR while remaining weldable. In forged shrouds, the microstructure of the steel is stronger and more consistent compared to cast parts. This enables the heels to be even harder and more wear resistant. The shape of the shrouds allocates more mass towards the corner where the wear is highest. It is also designed to slide effortlessly into the masses from the first intrusion.
